To draw models accurately and rapidly, you can use By CAD Line.
Linear Element (Beam, Wall, Custom Quantity - Length)
Let’s use Wall as an example.
- Import a drawing, and adjust its scale and location to make it shown correctly in the drawing area.
- In the Element List, select an existing wall, and then in the Attribute Editor, define the wall attributes based on the imported drawing.
- In the Draw group, click By CAD Line, pick the wall sideline on the drawing, and a transparent wall will be generated. If the auto-generated temporary beam entity is inconsistent with that on your drawing, you can press F4 to adjust it.
- Right click to confirm your selection.
Area Element (Slab, Ramp, Raft Foundation,)
Let’s use Slab as an example.
- Import a drawing, and adjust its scale and location to make it shown correctly in the drawing area.
- In the Element List, select an existing slab, and then in the Attribute Editor, define the slab attributes based on the imported drawing.
- In the Draw group, click By CAD Line, and the following tool will appear at the upper left corner of the drawing area.
- Pick the slab sidelines on the drawing, and the selected sidelines will become blue and thicker. If the existing sidelines cannot form an enclosed area, you can click Line or Arc in the tool to manually draw complementary lines.
- After an enclosed area is formed, click OK.
