To share your models with others for model reuse and higher efficiency, you can use Export Model. There are two ways of exporting model: By Floor and By Entity.
Exporting Model by Floor
- On the BIM MODEL tab, in the Cubic Model group, click Export Model > By Floor.
- In the Export Model by Floor box, select the zones, floors and elements you want to export, and then click OK.
- In the Save File box, specify the save path, rename the file, and then click Save. By default, the file name is the same as the project name.
- The following progress bar will appear. After the export is 100% completed, you can find the exported file (*.cubic) in your specified location.
Exporting Model by Entity
- On the BIM MODEL tab, in the Cubic Model group, click Export Model > By Entity.
- In the drawing area, select the entities that you want to export, and then right click to confirm.
- Specify the insertion point for the selected entities, and then right click to confirm.
- In the Save File box, specify the save path, rename the file, and then click Save. By default, the file name is the same as the project name.
- The following progress bar will appear. After the export is 100% completed, you can find the exported file (*.cubic) in your specified location.
Note
*.cubic is a file format provided by Cubicost for better model exchange among different products.
