In actual scenarios, you may find that building 3D models is not necessarily the most cost-effective way to calculate quantities. For example, when calculating the quantities of roads, manholes, parking lines, drops, and so on, when calculating the quantities of irregular entities whose models are too complex to draw.
Under Custom Quantity, there are three sorts of quantities: Count, Length, Area.
- Click Custom Quantity, the following tool will appear at the upper left corner of the drawing area.
- To measure the number of elements, you can click Count. For example, count the toilets on the drawing. Red tick signs represent the counts, and the value for Count in the tool will change with your selection.
- To measure the lengths of elements, you can click Length. For example, measure the total length of the lift rooms. The length value will be directly displayed near the line you have drawn, and the value for Length in the tool will change with your selection.
- To measure the areas of elements, you can click Area. For example, measure the arear of the irregular greenery. The area value will be directly displayed inside the area you have drawn, and the value for Area in the tool will change with your selection.
Note
- To measure the length, you can use the By CAD Line to pick lines or arcs, instead of drawing them on your own.
- To get the volumes of the selected length or area, you can enter the section size or height respectively in the Attribute Editor.
- If no entity is selected, the total quantities are shown in the tool. If an entity is selected, the quantities of the selected entity will be shown in the tool.
